Beanstalk is led by Gill Pagett, who has a track record of delivering profit improvement, working as a director in blue chip FTSE100 companies, large family run businesses and by mentoring a number of smaller enterprises.
A degree educated, Chartered Management Accountant with 23 years hands-on commercial experience up to director level in finance and marketing roles, Gill believes that having a financial perspective of the business is vital for success and there is more to finance than just numbers – specifically understanding the people and challenges facing the business.
“People are a business’ greatest asset and my style is non-political and diplomatic; but objective and determined and focused on achieving business goals. Some of my proudest career achievements come from gaining credibility for the finance department in the wider business and setting key performance indicators that drive key business decisions and improvements.”
Challenges will always exist – it’s how we deal with them that matters and at Beanstalk we believe in planning and considering options. This is where financial management is critical – both for testing perceptions and improving understanding.
Underpinning all this is a belief in continuous improvement – we never stop learning and in business it makes good sense to always be on the look out for lots of bite size enhancements.
